What should I bring to my appointment?
All patients must bring a current referral from your doctor or specialist. If you have seen Dr Barclay or A/Prof Hullah elsewhere, please ask your GP to provide you with recent correspondence about your medical condition. Please bring any previous imaging, sleep studies or correspondence related to your condition. How can I make an appointment with a respiratory and sleep specialist?
Ensure that you have a valid medical referral from your General Practitioner or another medical specialist. Contact reception@nbrespiratoryandsleep.com.au to make an appointment.
My medical issue is urgent. How long will it take to get an appointment?
All medical referrals are triaged by the respiratory and sleep specialists to facilitate timely review of urgent respiratory and sleep issues. If you believe that the wait time for your appointment is too long, please ask your referring doctor to contact us at reception@nbrespiratoryandsleep.com.au to provide further information which may allow us to re-triage the urgency of your review.
I have an appointment with Dr Barclay or A/Prof Hullah at Peninsula Respiratory after the 8th of April. Can I still see them there?

Do you see children at Northern Beaches Respiratory and Sleep?
No. Patients must be 16 years or older to be seen by our respiratory and sleep specialists. Patients who are younger than 16 with respiratory or sleep issues should seek a referral for a respiratory or sleep paediatrician.
Do you bulk bill?
No, unfortunately we are unable to provide bulk billed medical consultations. We offer a reduced rate for pensioners and those who are undergoing significant financial hardship. Where possible, our specialists seek to provide care through the public system to reduce costs. Information about out of pocket costs will be provided to you at the time of booking your appointment.
If I require a Respiratory Interventional Procedure, where are these performed?
The location for respiratory intervention will depend on what procedure is required and whether or not you require referral to another proceduralist eg interventional radiologist. For the most part, procedures occur at Northern Beaches Hospital, but at times the nature of the intervention or patient preference requires referral to another facility.
I am not happy with my care. How do I make a complaint?
We endeavour to deliver the best care possible, but understand that sometimes you might feel that we can do better. Please contact us via reception@nbrespiratoryandsleep.com.au with details of your complaint. We take all complaints seriously and will take steps to look into the issues. We will return to you with the outcome of a review.
