A/Prof Patricia Hullah

Respiratory and Sleep Physician
BAppSc (pty), MBBS (hons), DipPallMed (clinical), FRACP

A/Prof Hullah is an experienced consultant specialist in Respiratory and Sleep medicine. She obtained undergraduate degrees in both Applied Science and Medicine from the University of Sydney, graduating with Honours from Medicine in 2004. She trained in Respiratory and Sleep medicine at Royal North Shore and Concord Hospitals.

She works at Northern Beaches Hospital, is a medical academic for Macquarie University, and is Head of Northern Beaches Clinical School and Year 4 Lead. A/Prof Hullah has a strong interest in medical education and training of junior doctors, and is Chair of Grand Rounds at Northern Beaches Hospital. She is also a local examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Her clinical interests include obstructive sleep apnoea, obstructive airways disease, interstitial lung disease, and lung cancer.

A/Prof Hullah has conducted research on diagnostic methods in sleep disordered breathing, pulmonary embolism, symptom management, and psychosocial impacts on health. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and an executive member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand.

Dr Kate Barclay

Respiratory and Sleep Physician
MBBS, MPHTM, FRACP

Dr. Barclay is a respected specialist in respiratory and sleep conditions, including lung cancer, tuberculosis, and sleep apnea. As the Head of The Respiratory Department at Northern Beaches Hospital, she leads a dedicated team focused on delivering top-tier care. She actively participates in multidisciplinary meetings and research while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care.

Dr Barclay is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand, further highlighting her experience and deep understanding of medicine.

She is committed to providing the most up-to-date patient-centred care, and blends clinical excellence with a compassionate demeanour, ensuring her patients receive personalised attention and optimal treatment for their respiratory and sleep concerns.

Dr Monica Cosma

Respiratory and Sleep Physician
MD (Rom), FRACP

Dr Comsa is a Respiratory and Sleep Physician with broad experience in the management of respiratory and sleep disorders. She trained at Concord Hospital and obtained her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2003, after which she completed a Fellowship in Sleep Medicine at Westmead Hospital.

She has dedicated her professional life to caring for patients with a wide spectrum of complex respiratory conditions and to developing clinical services and a Respiratory Lung Function Laboratory at Nepean Hospital, affiliated with the University of Sydney. She is actively involved in, and passionate about, training medical students at the University of Sydney, particularly the next generation of Advanced Trainees in Respiratory Medicine.

Dr Comsa’s main areas of clinical interest include chronic airway diseases, interstitial lung disease, sleep disorders (particularly respiratory failure), and lung cancer. She is proficient in specialised endobronchial diagnostic procedures, including endobronchial ultrasound guided biopsy and bronchial cryobiopsy.

Ms Tracey O/Brien

Practice Manager

Tracey came to Northern Beaches Respiratory and Sleep after many years working in practice management for specialist obstetricians and surgeons. She is a warm, focused and highly organised team member who works hard to co-ordinate patient care and appointments.

Donna Dixon

Medical Receptionist

Donna has many years of experience working in the Respiratory field and brings a wealth of knowledge to our practice.

Donna is a well known to many of our patients and is a very caring, kind, and organised member of the team.
